Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ByteVoice macOS application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"), provided by ByteVoice ("ByteVoice", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Services, you represent that:
- You are at least 16 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction;
- You have the authority to enter into these Terms; and
- Your use of the Services is lawful in your jurisdiction.
2. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the amended Terms with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
3. Description of Service
ByteVoice lets you dictate prompts and replies to coding agents (such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor), receive spoken status notifications, and interact with Slack by voice. Features and limits vary by plan, as described on our Pricing page.
4. Accounts and Authentication
- You must sign in with a valid account (via Firebase Authentication, including Google Sign-In) to use most features.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
5. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
- The Free plan is available at no cost, subject to the usage limits described on our Pricing page.
- Paid plans (e.g. Pro, Team) are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe.
- By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your designated payment method for the applicable fees until you cancel.
- You may cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and no partial refunds are issued for that period unless required by law.
- We may change plan pricing or features prospectively, with notice posted on our Pricing page.
- If payment fails, we may suspend or downgrade your subscription until payment is resolved.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, plan restrictions, or authentication;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Services;
- Use the Services to generate content that is abusive, infringing, or harmful;
- Access the Services using automated means without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy.
7. Third-Party Services
The Services integrate with third-party tools you choose to connect, such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Slack, and rely on third-party model providers to process dictation and generate text. Your use of those third-party services is subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or conduct.
8. Intellectual Property
ByteVoice and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Services, including all software, branding, and content we provide. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding except as necessary to use the Services as intended.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
- The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not guarantee that transcription, dictation cleanup, or agent replies will be accurate or error-free.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, ByteVoice shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ByteVoice and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for violation of these Terms or at our discretion. You may stop using the Services and cancel your subscription at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately.
12. Privacy
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
